Some exciting things are cooking up for my book launch of The High-Flying Adventures of Captain Grief on June the 26th at The Only cafe and bar. I would say that the royal we are very excited to give you more details but Captain Grief isn’t all that excited about it.
Personally, I think she’s the one who’s a little jelly now I am going to be the one front and centre for the readings (and other melodic presentations). I’m looking at it as a real coming out event and pulling out ALL the stops. Problem is they aren’t her ideas.
I vetoed the pie eating/wet t-shirt contest on principal. I would have been open to the Kara-oke machine but she wanted to perform a cover song called I’m Too Sexy For My Cape wearing a yellow sequined bikini. I figured that was a little too much. She set a new record for super sulking.
Basically the conversation started and finnished like this.
Captain Grief: thought Babs was here, what’s with the show tunes?
Kelly: I have to get in tune before the book launch.
CG: what?
Kelly: The book launch!
CG: Hun?
Kelly: I said I have to get ready….ah wait. What do you have in your ears?
CG: Pardon?
Kelly: what do you have in your ears?
CG:Excuse me?
Kelly: You jerk.
So while helping a friend move this weekend I decided to use my Captain Grief free time to further my efforts for an awesome book bash!
